Help/About The functionality of this website is intended to be simple. But I realise that what is simple and logical to me may not be simple and logical to you. So here's basically how the site works... First, register your team. The system will not let you register competitors without doing so. Click the link to the left, and fill in the boxes. "Team name" is the name of your team. "Team abbreviation" is a shortened name that can be displayed when space is limited. If your team name is, say, "Cornell DanceSport Team," your abbreviation might be "CDST." Please enter the email address of either the team captain, or, better, the person handling registrations for the team. If you want only one person to register your team members, check the final box at the bottom. Your team members will be able to view their registration status, but they won't be able to add or change events without your permission. Next you have to enter competitors into the system. Again, click the link to the left. The system expects to get leader/follower pairs. If you have a leader without a follower or vice versa, you can select the "TBA" option. Otherwise enter each competitor's information into the boxes and click the submit button at the bottom. The third option, selecting competitors from the dropdown lists, can be used if you have already registered a particular competitor but want to add more events (with the same or a different partner). If you have a leader that also plans to be a follower (or vice versa), there is a checkbox to click to allow that. The next window will allow you to select events in which the competitors will be competing. Only select events for the leader/follower pair you selected. If one or both of the competitors are dancing with other partners, you can register those separately by going back to the main 'register for events' page and selecting the registered competitor from the dropdown box while entering data for the new competitor. Continue to register the rest of your competitors in the same fashion. If you make a mistake, you can click the "edit registrations" link to remove events. If you're the team captain (or other designated person), you can use the team's master password (received via email after registering the team) to edit anyone's registration for your team. If you are a competitor, and your team captain has not restricted registrations to him/herself, you can enter the password you recieved via email to edit your registrations only. After registering, please check your team's registration by using the "view current registrations" function (again, a link on the left). You can view registrations by competitor, team, and event. If you're having any kind of difficulty, please let Brian know. If you're getting any error messages from the system, please include them in your email. Requirements: I've tried to make use of as few advanced browser features so as to make this website usable by everyone. However, I must draw the line somewhere for quality reasons, so just any old browser won't do. |
